DFG Farms offers custom data management solutions for any grower at any skill level. While I use Ag Leader® SMS™ for data analysis, I can also help you with any GIS platform if that is where you choose to view your data.
To avoid unexpected delays and costs, I highly recommend my annual service plans. It is recommended to sign up as early as possible to allow the most time to correct issues found. It also provides greater flexibility to schedule site visits and inspections in favorable weather.
Individual Services
Click on each service for more information. This is only a snapshot of the most common services, custom services are available.
Project Setup
- One time charge to collect all available data.
- Import all existing data into SMS from USB or through other GIS platforms.
- Organize into proper GFFB structure which can be exported to all display and service providers.
- Download Sentinel imagery for all fields.
- Download Weather data.
- Import Lidar elevation and soil type.
- Import grower supplied soil tests.
GIS Boundary and Guidance
- Use coverage maps to optimize existing boundaries or create new.
- Optimize guidance lines where applicable.
- In the case where there is no data, rough boundaries can be made based on imagery.
Variable Rate Prescriptions
- Analysis and Reporting (see above) must be performed before a prescription is generated.
- Consultation with grower and their trusted agronomist to determine site specific rates.
- Grower receives a pdf summary of every field.
- Export the grower’s display(s), as well as any consultant’s GIS platform.
Annual Service Plans
Data management service plans are designed to keep all of your data organized and usable.
Data Only
- Import all data to SMS
- Verify any changes in boundaries
- Provide yield reports and upload to customer’s AgFiniti account.
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Import data to SMS
- Optimize boundaries and guidance lines.
- Create summary reports on grower, farm or field basis.
- Clean up yield data. Reprocess data to adjust flow delay and swath width, etc.
- Create multi-year yield analyses.
- Determine whether spatial variability warrants prescriptions.
- Sentinal imagery and weather reports from SMS will be provided as the grower requires, up to 10 times per year.
Field Trial Analysis
- Add on to Analysis and Reporting package.
- Determine placement of field trial based on previous yield, land use and application.
- Align field trial with an optimal AB line that considers other application equipment travel across the field.
- Review with grower and export as a prescription or add to an existing prescription where applicable.
- Provide maps to grower and any applicators showing where the trial is intended to be.
- Analyze results using Ag Leader® SMS™ Field Trial module, providing statistical analysis of results of trial. Also includes weather data vs historical for the field.
- Where applicable, the field trial analysis can be performed on a previous crop in the same area with no trials to show natural variability.
- Field trial analysis can also be performed on previous trials.
Hardware service plans are designed to make sure all displays and machines are in proper operating condition before going to the field. The display only looks at the display and steering system, most common in tractors using autosteer and coverage logging such as tillage or hay equipment. The full machine check covers application, harvest, and planting equipment.
Display Only
- Check and update display firmware at the start of the season.
- Verify GFFB structure, remove any unnecessary fields.
- Clear old data and ensure required reference layers are on the display.
- Clear unwanted guidance lines.
- Refresh all operators on display operation.
- Verify operation of assisted steering system when possible.
Machine Pre-Season Check
- This applies to a tractor and implement combination or self-propelled machine, and includes everything in Display Setup.
- Check all accessible cables for wear and pinch points.
- Check all connections, repair as required.
- Verify connection, operation, and firmware of all modules.
- Report on any observed issues not related to Ag Leader components.
- Unlimited phone support and remote connection with InCommand displays with DisplayCast®
